Some funny pics for your enjoyment.

I ate lunch and noticed that my belly was out of control. I just had to share. This is after lunch so it's a little exaggerated but I am not sticking it out. I think I am pregnant with The Hulk's spawn.

13 week belly shot

Still feeling about the same as last week. I emailed my doctor though because my fatigue has been awful. I said "I feel like I'm either going to have an emotional breakdown or die". She is testing my Thyroid to see if there's anything going on with that and she doesn't think I'm anemic since my recent levels were fine. Probably just being lazy. :)

I've also been having a problem with dizziness. I nearly passed out the other night during dinner. I had to crawl to the floor and put my feet above my head. I was spinning like crazy.

Then- this morning I was getting my blood drawn. No big deal, right?. I draw my own blood all the time and I must have had a million of them between school and letting newbs practice on me, but I just had a feeling that I should have a coworker do it for me. Thank goodness I did.
I started feeling tingly, the top of my head went numb, I started to see in tunnel vision, my ears started making a weird noise, I could feel the blood exiting my body, I got dizzy and kept saying "it feels really weird". She finished just in time. I came back pretty quickly and then started crying. The boss lady walked in and flipped. I felt a little weird after a while but made it through the day. I was more concerned as to WHY I pretty much passed out for my first time. Oh well.

My back pain is still off the charts and I'm still getting migraines that I can't control with Tylenol. I'm going to see my Neurologist tomorrow and see what he recommends. Probably going to be getting more physical therapy.. which is ok with me. I need some massages! Ray's been great but I could definitely use more massages.

Other than these things.. everything is going good. Getting bigger and a little more uncomfortable but as always, feeling blessed.

Bear with me.. (12 weeks)

I'm in the process of making this blog better but since we don't have internet at home, it's going to take me a while.

ALSO- if you are a family member or friend and not one of my Infertile homies who is used to TMI.. this may be too much info at times, but such is pregnancy, right? Read at your own risk.
Also also- if you are a family member, please only share this blog with people once you ask me. I would hate for some people to read about my boobs or butt and be traumatized for life.

How I'm feeling:
*Tired. The exhaustion is overwhelming. It is getting better but it's the most tired you could imagine yourself being.

*Very bad low back pain that makes it hard to move at times. It feels like my hips are separating at my spine.

*Sore, very large boobs...but fun. Free boob jobs would be, right?

*Feel like my body is out of wack and it's hard to be on my feet or walk for long periods of time, but then it's hard to sit for a long time because my back starts to hurt worse. AND I'm only 3 months along!

*Uterine cramps and pelvic pressure from everything stretching. These aren't as bad as they were in the beginning, thank goodness.

*Annoying sense of smell. I smell EVERYTHING. It's so bad that it keeps me up during the night because I can smell random things. Like the bathroom rugs, the shower curtain, the dog in the hall way, stinky plants outside, the kitchen, laundry room and all the other smelly things in my house. Of course the new sense of smell couldn't possibly be a good one, like flowers, perfume, candy, chocolate.. no... just icky stuff.

* Emotional. And actually, it hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be. I haven't broken down and cried for no reason yet but I have had a couple of moments where I start to feel very impatient and just want to 1) get a little further along in the pregnancy so I can feel the baby move, find out the gender, etc. 2) See what it looks like.

*I think week 11 is the first week that I actually started to feel pregnant (different than feeling the symptoms of pregnancy). Maybe it's because it's the week I heard the heartbeat, started to feel more change in my belly...I don't know.

*Feeling very over protective and really wanting to get things in order.

* Still taking the Prometrium (Progesterone suppliment) and they knock me out. I'm also still on pelvic rest which means no action at all.

* I haven't bad any real cravings yet, just mostly food aversions, which seem to be on their way out.

* Other than all of this bad stuff, I've been feeling pretty good the last week or two. I always feel blessed, so I try to always remember that when I'm complaining about the bad stuff.

It also seems that since week 10, time has been going pretty fast.

We've been having appointments every 2 weeks since I'm technically high risk, but now that I'm progressing, we are moving to every month. My next appointment is September 14th. The following appointment should be the biggun where we find out what flavor this baby is. I can't wait. Once that happens, we can register and start shopping. Woot!

Warning: I am in my undies in most of these. I tried to stay modest but it's hard to get a good view on a cell phone camera.

Where to start?

Ray and I have tried to get pregnant for 2 years. We've been through thermometers, peeing on lots of sticks, buying expensive monitors, pokes and prods, surgeries, needle sticks, awful medications, several doctors and tons of tests. All with nothing but let-downs.
We were sent to a Reproductive Endocrinologist who specializes in Infertility. She started me on a medication called Femara or Letrozole that is not FDA approved for ovulation induction, but is used for treatment of breast cancer. I took that on cycle days 3 thru 7. I followed that up with an ultrasound to check my follicle to see how things were responding. We had one follicle but it needed a few extra days to grow before it was time for the next step. A couple of days past and it was time to give myself and injection of the pregnancy hormone HCG that causes you to ovulate within 36 hours. I give shots every day, and I draw my own blood but for some reason I was so nervous to give myself the injection. But, I did it on June 5th, and didn't feel a thing. On June 7th we went in for an IUI (Artificial Insemination).
I started feeling nauseous, extremely exhausted, emotional and out of wack..but I blamed it on the HCG injection and didn't think anything of it. Father's Day was coming up and I didn't want to see a negative test so I decided to test a day early. My mom was visiting and I was feeling pressure of having to tell her we didn't get pregnant. I woke up and decided to get it over with. I took the digital test and started walking back to the bedroom. As soon as I got there and opened the door the test read "Pregnant". I just said "Ummmm......." and Ray woke up freaked out. He was confused and panicked and kept saying "What?! What's wrong?!" I just stood there in shock. I finally managed to mutter "Umm..I'm pregnant.....?" Ray jumped up and said "Are you kidding me? ARE YOU KIDDING? NO WAY! NO WAY!". We both started shaking and crying and held eachother. I immediately wanted to yell it from the mountain tops. My mom was in the bathroom putting on her make up at that point and I went in there and said "Hey mom, will you read this for me?" She had to find her glasses and didn't realize what we were looking at. She figured it out and started jumping up and down and crying. I then had to call several people to tell them and within 2 days nearly everyone knew. It was awesome but at the same time, the fear of miscarriage constantly haunts.

For Father's Day we went to Ray's parents house and told them with a Father's Day card. They each had to read the card 3 times to really get it. They were thrilled.
The next day I went in to work and drew my blood, Tuesday I got the results which were 239...not bad.
Wednesday I drew my blood again and the number had almost doubled, now to 555.
The following days were scary as I was hoping and praying that the baby stuck. We had our first ultrasound on July 6th and we could see the heartbeat. Everything was looking good so far!
Two days later, I found out that one of my best friends that was also going through Infertility was pregnant and due 12 days after me. SO EXCITING.

We had a second Ultrasound July 19th, another on July 28th , August 10th and today's August 14th.
Everything is looking great and we couldn't be happier.
